This 12 minute interview offers the views of a photographer and author who has been an active observer of the culture since the 70's. From the script she's dishin, she's still up to date in the culture and how it's developed into today.
I am a 20 year since retired graffiti artist. Now as a business & home owner, I have been on both sides of the issue of criminal graffiti. I believe that there is a solution to the problem and that it is possible to prevent criminal graffiti with community involvement and developing a "legal" means to encourage public art.
I don't pretend to be an expert, but I do have first hand experience and have observed graffiti activities for decades.
I have created my blog to demonstrate the benefit of public art and to produce ideas or solutions that may help to remove illegal graffiti quickly and to provide a program that would turn potential illegal vandals into creative, productive, and contributing members of society BEFORE illigal graffiti hits the walls.
This is only a possible solution, so your input is valued wether you are a concerned citizen, or consider yourself as a graffiti artist.
